Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her debut role as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie was recognized internationally for its box office success. The film was also recognized during awards ceremonies around the globe. Amelie has been the most financially successful french-language film to hit the US. After this film, Tautou appeared in many films that ranged from British dramas to Jean Pierre Jeunet's film Un long dimanche de fiancailles. After that, she shifted to Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
