Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme in France, was born on the 9th of August in 1976. Audrey Tautou is an oldest child of four. The actress was inspired by her parents, dentist and a teacher who both taught her to pursue her passion for theatre. It was in stark contrast with her previous desire to become a primateologist because she loved monkeys. A quick and successful start to success as well as a swift growth in popularity was a sign of her development as an actor. Prior to beginning her acting career, Tautou was a participant in Jeunes Premiers an French talent search TV program sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. Also, she was awarded the the title of Best Young Actress at her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou went to church and Institut Catholique de Paris during her youth, however she now dissociates herself from her childhood. Apart from her acting career she was also interested in modelling. She was the model in the commercials for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and is known as "The Chanel Muse". Alongside her acting profession she also has an interest in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection images during the Arles Film Festival, under the name Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity and fame. The exhibition also includes portraits of herself and special focus on journalists who have been watching Tautou's career since her dramatic popularity following Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her debut role as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie was recognized internationally for its box office success. The film was also recognized during awards ceremonies around the globe. Amelie has been the most financially successful french-language film to hit the US. After this film, Tautou appeared in many films that ranged from British dramas to Jean Pierre Jeunet's film Un long dimanche de fiancailles. After that, she shifted to Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
