Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became the coach for Comaneci and first became aware of Comaneci when she was just six years old. She first competed in the junior national championships in 1969 placing 13th and she was the winner in 1970. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals and in 1973 and 1974, she was an overall junior champion. In her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champ winning four golds and a silver. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first female to do a reverse double salto, which is an unmounting from uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment industry began during her teens when she started skating figure along with her sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol's first job was in entertainment during her teenage year. When she was a child she started her career as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. These shows included skaters who were performed to music from the stage.
